ALE-x Pro
What's included in the free version and what unlocks with ALE-x Pro.
ALE-x is free to download and use for viewing and navigating ALE files. A one-time in-app purchase (US $29.99) unlocks Pro features for editing and import/export.
There is no subscription. Pro is yours forever once purchased.
Free features
Section titled “Free features”Available to everyone, no purchase required:
- Finder Quick Look preview
- Open and view ALE files
- Search and filter clips in real time
- Timeline visualization with zoom and pan
- Selection inspector (view metadata for selected clips)
- Metadata display with sanity warnings (for invalid timecode frames, duplicate columns, and missing source identifiers)
Pro features
Section titled “Pro features”Unlocked with a one-time purchase or 14-day free trial:

| Duplicate columns | Create a copy of a column with a new name |
| Copy column data | Copy values from one column to another |

Before purchasing, you can start a 14-day free trial that unlocks all Pro features at no charge. The trial begins the moment you tap “Start 14-day Trial” inside the app — no payment required.
After the trial ends, Pro features lock until you complete the one-time purchase.
Purchasing
Section titled “Purchasing”Open the app and choose ALE-x → Upgrade to Pro… in the menu bar. Pro is US $29.99 as a one-time purchase (your Mac App Store may show a localized equivalent). The purchase is processed through the Mac App Store and is tied to your Apple ID, so you can restore it on any Mac using the same account.
To restore a previous purchase: ALE-x → Manage Purchase… → Restore Purchases.
