Metadata Display
Comprehensive metadata information displayed throughout the interface.
Metadata Bar
Section titled “Metadata Bar”The metadata bar at the top shows video format, audio format, and FPS for quick reference.
Those values are set during CSV import and can be managed from related workflows in Import/Export.
Sanity Warnings
Section titled “Sanity Warnings”When ALE-x detects data issues, a small warning indicator appears in the metadata bar. It stays hidden when there are no issues, so it remains non-obtrusive during normal editing.
Click the warning indicator to open details about detected issues. Initial checks include:
- Timecodes with invalid frame numbers for the current FPS (for example,
24 fpswith frame32) - Duplicate column names (case-insensitive)
- Rows where both
TapeandSource Fileare empty
Clip Counter
Section titled “Clip Counter”Displays filtered clip count vs. total count, so you always know how many clips are visible after filtering.
Summary View
Section titled “Summary View”Calculates and displays the total duration of all visible clips, helping you understand the scope of your project.
Timecode Support
Section titled “Timecode Support”Full SMPTE timecode parsing and formatting with support for:
- 24 fps
- 25 fps
- 30 fps
- 23.976 fps
- 29.97 fps
- 59.94 fps
Standard frame rates and drop frame rates with exact fractional calculations for accurate frame counting.
