File Management
ALE-x provides comprehensive file management capabilities for working with ALE files and CSV imports.
ALE File Support
Section titled “ALE File Support”Open, edit, and save ALE files with the .ale extension. ALE-x fully supports the standard Avid Log Exchange format.
CSV Import
Section titled “CSV Import”Import CSV files and convert them to ALE format. During import, you can configure header fields including Video Format, Audio Format, and FPS.

CSV Export
Section titled “CSV Export”Export your ALE data to CSV format for use in other applications. The export properly escapes commas and quotes in values, and only exports visible (filtered) rows.
Header values (Video Format, Audio Format, FPS) are shown in the Metadata Display.
Multiple Encodings
Section titled “Multiple Encodings”ALE-x supports multiple text encodings ensuring compatibility with files from different sources:
- UTF-8
- MacRoman
- Windows-1252
- ISO Latin 1
Recent Files
Section titled “Recent Files”The application automatically tracks recently opened files (up to 10 files) for quick access from the File menu.
